Gostisbehere is legitimately below average defensively though. Healthy scratched multiple games this year because of how bad he was in his own zone. It's easy to look the other way when he's a sophomore making peanuts, but now that he has his contract and the inevitable higher expectations of Flyer fans, he'll need to get his stuff sorted out or they'll quickly turn on him.

To add Gostisbehere doesn't have Giordano and Hamilton scooping up the PP time either. Other than that kid Provorov he's the only option to play 1st team PP in Philly
53% of Gostisbehere's career points have come from the PP as opposed to 27% for Brodie.
Gostisbehere can thank his lucky stars he had little competition for an offensive role on that team and should be doing handstands after getting that contract.
