Flames need more size, grit, toughness and willingness to get dirty and push other teams around. Stand up for themselves and their goalie.
Galchenyuk, Drouin, Duchene... all really talented but don't really bring the toughness that is required to last in the playoffs as we saw against Anaheim. From that perspective, I think Burke is right in that if you want to compete in the Pacific in the playoffs, we need to get bigger and meaner up front but still try and maintain that skill.
It's not easy, not saying it is, I just don't think any of those guys bring the elements to the team we are missing. We need Ferland to get back to the way he was against Vancouver 2 yrs ago, really- or a player like him. Maybe Tkachuk will get a bit bigger and meaner. But we just need more of that grit.
