It suck most guys haven't panned out. I remember hearing talk about our ''future 1st line'' with the 3 first rounders. But in the end, we got the highest scoring player in the draft from that year AND the year before.
If someone would have told me that we would have drafted the highest producing player from that year and the year before, but none of the others would pan out (although there is still time), I would have taken that gamble. And while some like to blame the Flames for drafting them, in the end the players are their own human beings who make their own decisions. The organization can only do so much to guide and help them reach their potential. It's up to the players to reach the ultimate goal of being a full time NHL player.
The Flames did their absolute best with the resources they had available AT THE TIME.
