Because he fills multiple glaring holes in the lineup. He's big, he's a right show that can play RW, and he'd instantly become the best player on the team.
Yeah he makes a lot, but that's the price to pay for legitimate superstars.
He's scored 50 goals 3 of the last 4 years, I think it's a little silly to say he's declining because of one "down" season (and I use that term VERY loosely because 69 points is still fantastic).
Not every player on our team has to be under 30. 31 is not old. At the very worst you probably still get 5 really good years out of him. A player of his calibre possibly more.
The Flames window is opening, and Ovi would be a great add in my opinion. I'm genuinely baffled that some people wouldn't want him.
