If you really needed to get rid of him it's a way better route than buyout. How many 2nd or 3rd round picks have the Flames cashed in on in the last 20 years? Would you trade Mitch Wahl and Dustin Boyd to get rid of Brouwer? Cap space is an asset.
Troy Brouwer is gonna be like Wideman in the way that for the next three years there is gonna be daily pie in the sky plans to get rid of him. Today is a good example......... Brouwer for Ovechkin. Ya right. All TheScorpion did was throw out a somewhat realistic way to do it.
