I can't see the downside of adding one of the league's premier scorers. Plus, he is a guy that plays physical. He is also a guy that completely revamped his game from 'nintendo controller disconnected' to actually coming back on defence and even blocking shots.
This isn't your old selfish, highlight reel immature Ovechkin. This is a guy that is pretty committed to winning that cup. Only downside is when he gets up and plays hooky to be in the Olympics, but I won't hold that against him.
1st, Brouwer, Fox - I would add significant assets on top of that. Would probably take another first, and at least one of our best prospects (and not keeping a single one of them as some exclusion). I would say Ovechkin is still worth that for the next 4-5 years, and will still be a good asset late into his career.
