Rep. Tim Walberg (R-Mich.) on climate change - “I believe there’s climate change. I believe there’s been climate change since the beginning of time. I believe there are cycles. Do I think man has some impact? Yeah, of course. Can man change the entire universe? No. Why do I believe that? Well, as a Christian, I believe that there is a creator in God who is much bigger than us. And I’m confident that, if there’s a real problem, he can take care of it.”

That is the biggest problem with religious doctrine dictating policy-making. It's almost always this pattern:
- reasonable statement #1
- reasonable statement #2
- reasonable statement #3
- unreasonable or unrelated conclusion because religion
I also really hate when people overuse the word "believe". You can believe in a God. Believing in evolution, gravity, climate change or any other scientifically supported theory is ridiculous. The mechanisms for these things are not based upon your belief system.
