Troy Brouwer was putting up 25 goals when he was 28, this season he put up 13 with the Flames as 31 year old.

At 28, Curtis Glencross was a 24 goal scorer. By 32 he was out of the league.

For every Jagr or Lidstrom, there's probably 10x the players who have a sharp decline after 30. Give a player with his playstyle, the potential for injuries and deterioration, and I think Lucic is a great candidate for falling off the map before his contract is up.
Your argument is ruined when you say "Troy Brouwer was putting up 25 goals when he was 28" when he never scored that many before or after outside of a lockout season.
