I don't disagree but this was his 34 year old season, he just turned 35. And you can't predict how gradual it will be.
Corey Perry had 43 goals as a 28 year old. As a 31 year old, he put up 19 this season. Just bad year? Severe decline?
Heatley was 31 when he become a shadow of his formerself. All but done at 32.
Troy Brouwer was putting up 25 goals when he was 28, this season he put up 13 with the Flames as 31 year old.
At 28, Curtis Glencross was a 24 goal scorer. By 32 he was out of the league.
For every Jagr or Lidstrom, there's probably 10x the players who have a sharp decline after 30. Give a player with his playstyle, the potential for injuries and deterioration, and I think Lucic is a great candidate for falling off the map before his contract is up.
