Larry David (co-creator of Seinfeld, filthy rich), really hates that everyone turns to him whenever the check arrives, finds it de-humanizing. He also loves it any time someone else offers to pick up the check for him.
e: given what the seals did for Tiger, its ridiculous, but I can see where he's coming from.
