I hope this model entices NHL GM's to shift high end talent around the league more. Star hockey trades are always exciting.
It's pretty crazy when you look at what Nashville has done in terms of hockey trades and then compare it to CP discussions on Flames "stars". We're so afraid to even entertain the idea of a good Flames player being traded because we're so conservative and figure the only way to build a team is to get what you get with picks and the draft and try to make small improvements on that.
The idea of shipping out anyone for something else is so foreign to us. I think it was Darryl Sutter's demeanor and the way he built teams in the 2000's that led to this attitude in our fans, as it was mostly working.
