I would be fine with market here if people actually made money, but they don't. The wage:cost ratio is mind boggling. The only gig in town is... real estate. Most people in Calgary who currently own homes couldn't buy in downtown Vancouver. If we want to have a discussion about how Vancouver real estate prices are broken, I'm totally for that, and agree. It just isn't a good example to use in a conversation in the overall ability of a subset of the population to buy a home.
