It isn't hindsight. I was stunned they would go back to Elliott in game 4, there was no upside. There absolutely was a chance Johnson would drop the ball and they'd lose. But the only chance they had to mentally recover and make a dent in the series was to put a different tender in and hope he could pull something out.
