If it progresses to that point, the real question is: if there with articles of impeachment against him but the senate is signalling they'll do nothing, would Trump actually resign at end-of-term, or would he run for re-election? It would really be the height of spectacle to see a half-impeached president stubbornly out on the campaign trail where he's happiest, with his own party more confused than ever about what to do about him.
