I think even most Oiler fans would agree that their path through the playoffs was more unconventional than some of the teams that are still playing. Losing almost every game in the advanced stat category (I think I read the Oilers finished ahead in 2 of the 13 games they played) is not the blueprint for success. A lot has to, and it did, go right for this happen and come away with a victory. Sitting back, while being shelled, hoping you can keep it close while you swing for the fences on your chances doesn't give you the best probability of winning.
