It could make their value drop for sure. But it depends who else the team exposing the player has exposed.
I haven't looked at the Caps exposure situation, but in a case like Raanta in New York, if he gets traded it all but guarantees they lose Fast or Lindberg for nothing. Sure they might get a 2nd for Raanta, but is having a 2nd and losing one of Lindberg/Fast better than having 2 of Raanta/Lindberg/Fast?
But on the other hand, for Colorado, I think it absolutely tanks Pickards trade value since the best players they are exposing other than Pickard are Colborne and Soderberg. So for the Avs, something is better than nothing makes a great deal of sense.
