As much as us Flames fans would love to get Murray somehow, from the Pens perspective it just doesn't make any sense.

MAF has a No Move Clause and if they have any trouble getting him to waive it for a team willing to trade for him then it makes perfect sense.
If they are forced to protect him from expansion one of four things will happen:
1. They expose Murray and lose him for nothing
2. They trade Murray for a return
3. They buy out MAF (how do you buy out a goalie who just took you deep in the playoffs?)
4. They give Vegas a boat load of assets to not take Murray, basically whatever they want
Which option is most appealing to you, if you were the Pens?
Especially when you've got a 22 year old Tristan Jarry who just put up 2.15 / 0.925 in 45 starts for your AHL affiliate.
EDIT: I'd just like to add that I don't think this will happen, I just think it could happen. IMO they will either be able to trade him to one of his 18 teams on his acceptable trade list, or he will agree to waive his NMC for the expansion draft.
