One thing overshadowed in this game is that Carlyle has had an impressive season to date. A year ago Flames fans were freaking out at the possibility of him being the next Flames head coach. He ends up winning the division with the youngest blue line in the league and breaking their game seven curse in getting the team to the 3rd round in the playoffs for only the 2nd time since he was coaching there in his first tenure. He deserves some credit here for being a better coach than he showed in Toronto.
