Thanks for answering. Keep in mind that you pay for seats in an arena, pay a merchant for an item of clothing, and pay a TV provider. All hockey related revenue for the NHL and NHLPA. Monies that you nominally spend "on the Flames", but in reality you are spending it on the NHL entertainment product. Parking, beer, or food that you consume, depending upon the "non hockey related revenue" portion of the CBA literally goes much more directly "to the Flames".
Important distinctions.
You must also know that sports are cyclical, and all things being equal, each team has the same opportunity as any other to excel each season.
If you are so unhappy with the Flames, who appear to be on an upward trend, perhaps you could cheer for another franchise?
