Essentially, there's speculation that Vegas could take up to 7 goaltenders in the expansion draft, keep one or two for themselves, and then trade the rest away for better assets than what was available on the expansion lists.
Like they could potentially pick Lack, Grubauer, Howard, Niemi, Varlamov, Fleuy and Dubnyk (for example) and then decide to keep Grubauer and trade the rest for a cheap backup and draft picks or whatever they can get.

That would be risky. Who would their trading partners be? It's looking like (I've just learned...) Calgary could be the only trading parter willing to give up assets, and for any of the mentioned goalies their original team would be a much cheaper trading partner for us.
