It isn't about justifying any pick but I think applying a rule, particularly for the first round where you compare against the next three picks is fair. When you start suggesting a pick was a blunder based on a guy selected 10 picks later it just isn't valid

He was described as a bull in a china shop by scouting which isn't far off. Stronger and faster than a lot of the junior players with a good shot but was never really great at using his teammates or playing within structure. IMO he's never going to live up to his draft billing as he's simply not a very good overall player in the NHL.
