Zaitsev's first season here he looked very good. He was getting the toughest match-ups and put up similar numbers to Brodie's 2013 season (except for his plus/minus)
Plus he played 7 seasons in the KHL which should mean something. I don't think there is as huge of a gap between the KHL and the NHL as we like to think. Look at Radulov this season.

Brodie was already playing top pairing with Giordano when he signed, and was excelling at it.
There is no comparison.
