One interesting question is where exactly does Vegas slot in on the waiver priority list for next season?
According to the CBA, it is essentially supposed to be the reverse standings of the previous season until November 1. But obviously Vegas isn't part of the standings. AFAIK the NHL hasn't officially explained where Vegas would be.
I would assume they get first priority until November 1st. If that is the case it could play a role in selections because they could play the odds and hope a tweener falls to them via waivers and select someone else in the expansion draft.
