I should have added previously but the other thing to consider is to avoid the DVD player in the van or don't focus a purchase on that. It costs you way more than just buying your kid an iPad to watch movies on. I kinda wish we thought this through prior to buying the van with that DVD feature. Plus then the kid can watch their own shows and don't have to "share" the one screen if you have more than one kid.
Don't get me wrong we use the DVD player and you can control it from the front which is handy, but don't kid yourself, any long distance trek you'll be stopping every 20 minutes anyway which gives you time to find them a show on the iPad while you're stopped...
