NHL has no integrity. That goal should not have counted, and it led to a huge momentum swing.
No, that shouldn't have happened and the Flames should have been tougher mentally. Yes, they shouldn't have let their emotions get the best of them. No, they shouldn't have begun to play timid.
The crowd was riled up / out of it because of it. Elliott lost his composure because of it, and so did essentially the whole team- probably even the coaches.
I'm sitting here still in shock they made that call because of how blatantly wrong it was. The guy is 6'2 and his stick is above his shoulders. Unless his stick is 6" wide there's no physical way that could or should count. It's absolutely unbelievable they went that direction.
