The third goal shouldn't have counted but the Flames need to be mentally tougher not to let the game slip out of control. A break went against you so double down your intensity. They didn't change anything, they just played the exact same way and allowed Anaheim to tie it up. They started playing again near the end of the period when the game was already tied up. Sitting back on the lead is a way to make that lead disappear like an illusion.

While there's some truth to this, normal NHL goaltending would have won us the game already.
More importantly, it's clear the team started to lose faith in Elliott, which causes panic in our own end.
