This really isn't a comparable situation.
The guy who originally framed the bathroom didn't hear you. And your comments weren't made available on a public forum.
But let's suppose you meant to send that comment to your boss in a private email. Instead you accidently sent that to everybody in the company. Now everyone, including the person who laid the frame, has seen your comments.
How can you reasonably expect that person to think? Of course he's going to say he's not going to let it bother him, but does he ever want to work with you? Does it impact your workplace relationship with him and other people?
The Flames absolutely heard these comments. They know who made them.
