I'm pretty sure he meant that his penalties are costing the team goals and that in fact is true. He's taken 4 bad penalties in this series and the Ducks have scored 2 of their 6 goals from those penalties. There's no question he needs to clean this part of his game up, it was an issue all regular season long and it's happening again in the most important games of the year.
You have to hold players accountable. Sam Bennett was scratched for a game for taking similarly dumb penalties. This something that Dougie has to ween out of his game because it is hurting the team right now.
