With respect to Gaudreau not shooting, yes you simply have to shoot from there. Period.
But I wasn't surprised because there is no doubt that he is still hurt. Not only have there been multiple shots of him holding his hands, wincing, and looking at his fingers, but just look at the shots that he has taken over the last few weeks - absolute muffins.
He took a shot in the first period that I would guess wouldn't have hit 30 on the radar gun. He has no confidence in his shot because he currently doesn't have a shot.
So no surprise that he passed the puck.
Also, the people calling him soft, give your head a shake. He is noticeably in pain. And the Ducks are whacking the crap out of him.
