Absolutely it's been a success. Remember back in November when we all thought the season was over and we'd finish bottom 5? Yea, that didn't happen. The team cleaned up their act, found their game, and made the playoffs with time to spare. They've made some great strides this year. If not for those 4 losses to the Oilers, they're very likely competing for the division title.
Are we a serious Cup contender like the Ducks? Not yet. But we're really close. Just need to add a couple of important pieces still, and we'll be right in the mix. We've got a solid playoff-caliber team here, and we're only gonna get better.
Looking at the first two games of this series, there really isn't much separating these teams. Both were close, tight checking, 1 goal games. Ducks only have their 2-0 lead due to the Flames shooting themselves in the foot in game 1, and a flukey bounce off Bouma's skate and a called-back goal in game 2. That's it. Flames are still very much in this, and with the home crowd behind them for the next two games, anything is possible.
