Watched the third period again today. I am perplexed. I tried to be objective.
In the first 15 minutes I felt the referees let go 9 infractions they could have called. 6 by the Ducks and 3 by the Flames. Then those two penalties on Calgary?
Kesler delivered 3 cross checks harder than Brodies in the third alone. Maybe they were not penalties because the Flame didn't fling himself forward in an embarrassing sprawl.
I felt confident watching the third last night. Calgary was getting very good scoring chances, and I saw the refs were clearly letting everything go...and then they didn't.
Brouwer and hamilton both had some nice hits last night I like that.
Monahan I do not understand. He had two great opportunities to hit Kesler and he veered away instead of making any contact. Looks intimidated. All the crap Kesler is doing to him, and he won't even make a simple bodycheck or a rub out on the boards?

Glad to see Backlund have a very good game. I think that bodes well for the next two games.

Did anyone else think that Manson turned down Engelland's offer to go? Looked that way to me.
