All of that doesn't change that he helps his team win more games than any other young defenseman in the league. It's actually pretty incredible that he could be a lot better than he is and yet he is still comfortably the best player amongst his peers. He's not Lidstrom, he's not even Karlsson, but he is a damn fine player and he will be the horse/deer that the Flames will ride to success for a long time.

Seriously. He will be an elite #1 for years to come. He's not physical enough? Check out his hit on Getzlaf. He isn't good defensively? Kid has dominant possession numbers as a 23 year old. How about his offense? 50 points.
Some will never be satisfied, but we have ourselves one of the premier young defenseman in the league. Not to mention he's 6'6 - 237lbs,
skates like a deer, and can lead the rush like a forward. We're lucky to have him.
