The maintenance and future wear and tear costs of a VW are a far more important thing to think about vs whether a car was bagged on or not in its first 9k IMO.

My anecdotal comment is that in general anyone I have known that has owned a VW typically loves their car but seems to have a lot more weird electrical gremlins and issues than any other brand that I have heard of. I think that German cars in general are a bit over engineered if thats even possible. lol.
