Don't go for the pellet gun as killing them is illegal. They are a protected migratory bird species.
Good luck. What I've found works is the second you hear them, chuck or slingshot some gravel at them. It's non-lethal but eventually they get annoyed enough to not come back. PM me if you want more details.

Same thing with me. You just have to keep scaring them away. Now I have chickadees pecking at my window battens!!
