Bouma on the other hand needed to be in the penalty box a few times in the third, for fully engaging and forcing the Ducks to pay for their retaliation, more then Backlund was in the box,but no.

Gotta disagree with you here. I see it the opposite. Bouma has spilled a lot of blood for this team already. I wasn't happy with him shying away from Bieksa or not looking for a fight, but he has stood up for Flame teammates in the past, so i'll give him a longer leash.
Brouwer on the other hand, may have done all those things, but not for this team and not for his current teammates. Usually, a player like this, a power forward, will make his mark when he arrives to a new team. It didn't take Lucic long to announce his presence in Edmonton, ditto for Maroon. Whenever Iggy goes to a new team, you can bet he's dropping the gloves real soon to defend a teammate.
Brouwer has done none of that thus far and what's worse is he marginalized 21 slashes to the hand of the franchise player which ultimately broke said player's hand.
As far as I can see, Brouwer hasn't earned anything as a Calgary Flame. Warrener, an NHL veteran was pissed this morning. He can't see how Brouwer is being accepted or appreciated in that locker room right now and neither can I. What Brouwer has done in the past means nothing to the players in that Flames dressing room right now, what matters is what he does now for THIS team.
Honestly, I wonder if he's purposely playing like crap so that Vegas doesn't take him in the expansion draft.
