Not to mention that if you hadn't figured Sasha + pill out already having a flashback in Walking Dead is a surefire sign that you're going to die.

Flashbacks or backstory construction with an emphasis to rush or remind us of the character's emotional complexity = imminent death of said character.
At first the formula was a bit comedic and kind of an inside joke, but it started to get redundant a while ago and is now negatively impacting the show, IMO.
