Just a bit of selling advice since you're asking as much as you are: Throw a pair of batteries in and make sure it works. There's a perception with second hand stuff that "may need batteries" is code for "It doesn't work".
The perception being "If you're going to the trouble of attempting to get a decent return on the item then why wouldn't you put $2 batteries in to maximize value?".
