Captain Obvious would say that the PP needs to be more productive.
GG's more defensively responsible system is great in close 1 goal games, but when the Flames get down by more than 1 in the second half of games they seem to really struggle.
There was 1 PP last night where Bennett was out there with the 1st PP unit in front of the net and I couldn't help thinking that combo is way better than Brouwer and maybe Ferland too. Ferland looks dangerous anytime he gets a shot attempt off, so I'd be ok with him on the PP too.
LA looked listless at the beginning of the game (I would say it's because they know they're not challenging for a playoff spot), but once they were engaged it was like waking the bear, the Flames played down to LA's strengths and LA won an ugly emotional game. No surprise. The silver lining for me is that this young Flames team is playing like they're not afraid of anybody, and picking fights with heavy former multiple cup winners is a great test to measure playofff readiness. With more reliable secondary scoring (ie: 3rd & 4th lines) I really like Flames chances against anybody in a 7 game series.
