Well this time around, he told me that Flames are playing above their potential and that the Oilers are playing below their potential. I was like dude are you serious? Your D core is nothing compared to ours and your whole team is based on McDavid.
His response was No. I said if McDavid wasn't on your team, are you a playoff team. He say's 100% without a doubt. ...

You're friend is clearly off his meds.
I've been chuckling because Draisaitl has been very hot over the last month and good for him, because I figure he's now heading towards the 7 million dollar a year territory. Now before you say that he's comparable to Johnny and Money, the bottom line is that even with their results Johnny and Money really aren't carrying the Flames. However Draisaitl and McDavid can negotiate from a incredible position of strength because those two are carrying that team of dead wood.
Everytime the Oilers media or Hockey Night in Canada blows hot air up their skirts, I'm hearing cash registers.
They don't have much of a window left they have next year and then there are serious decisions that are going to have to be made.
Add to that a team that improves by about 30 points in year without making a shattering change to their team beyond Hall for Larsson has had a huge amount of things go their way, and like the Flames a couple of years ago who plummeted after making the playoffs its unsustainable.
If the rest of their core like RNH and Eberle and others had actually stepped up I'd be impressed, instead I can point to three players, a schedule heavy on playing back to back tired teams and a lack of any bad luck as the primary reason for the Oilers to make a massive jump in points.
Oiler fans should be worried instead of thinking that their rebuild is over and its all gravy from here on in. They don't have the depth, they don't have the prospect depth and their luck at some point will even out.
So to answer your question...It's straight delusion and a lack of self awareness that makes them hate us. lol In their eyes we're the Avalanche who are getting lucky while they're the best team in the NHL and our point totals are very close lol[/QUOTE]
