I kinda fell in love with the game in the 80s when the Flames were on ESPN a lot.
They had a lot of colorful players like Lanny MacDonald, Jim Peplinski, Joel Otto, Rejean Lemelin, Mike Vernon, Tim Hunter, Al Macinnis, Hakan Loob and they were good enough to root for in the hope they would knock off Edmonton who were dominant then. Plus when you look at their crowd you'd see First Nation people there enjoying the game. Now they have a good nucleus of players and Moose. So they're easy to like.
