If they haven't even broken ground, I would suggest that you figure out where the garage will be and have them run gas and power out to it now. Will save you a bundle later on. Can also get them to install some conduit so you can pull internet and TV if you are ever inclined to do so.

I'd also suggest having a few 240v plugs installed, with the correct gauge wiring and breakers for a car charger.
