Who he replaced doesn't matter, I'm judging him on his own merit. He was a top four guy last year with 35+ points, and he's been that, albeit briefly, in Calgary so far. After that it's all about how much you trust his poor play in Phoenix this year to recovering from the knee injury.
27 years old, 2nd pairing, capable of 30-40 points. How much are teams willing to pay that on the ufa market? You get him at 4.5 it's a steal.
Now if he's willing to take less, fantastic..but any talk less then four is wishful thinking IMO.
