Yeah Poirier and Shinkaruk are big disappointments, but even though they are skilled in some aspects, they were also drafted later in the 1st round for a reason. In both cases I think skating is a detriment for both of them. Plus maybe they don't have enough "heart" to do what it takes to make the NHL.

It's so frustrating.
Poirier had 19 goals in the AHL as a 19 year old rookie and was an all-star IIRC.
Shinkaruk had 27 goals in the AHL last year.
You know they have the ability but just lose all confidence and fall off a cliff.
It's why I'm wary of what Janko and Mangia are doing this year. Looked like we had something in those other two and then they just crumble into nothing.
