I'd read the instructions. Some of these receivers are a bit finicky.
Incidentally I may do the same thing you are... but am looking at Sharps (AKA Hisense). Seem to get pretty good marks for picture, though not great on black levels (what do you expect, they're LED's). Thinking the 70 may be better, give up around 8% in viewing space from angle but it's backlit instead of edge-lit, so probably better for dark scenes.
