So is it a full time job? Or is she just saying that?
If it is, then basically asking them to be permanent full time volunteers is insane. And by full time job, I mean the US women's team is together year round, constantly playing exhibition games and requiring a full time commitment from the players, thus eliminating any other ways for them to earn a living. But I feel like she means full time job in terms of training and staying fit, not in terms of the team being in action year round.
I sympathize that women's hockey may not be a great way to earn a living but it doesn't make much sense for USA hockey to pay them full time salaries if they only play, for example, 1 month out of the year.
