I'm partial to Trek's and have the Domain 4.3 Disc that I love.
Both lean more towards the touring/comfort end of road bikes. They're built for comfort over long distances than for being uber lightweight/speedy. I chose mine because I'd be using it more for my commute than for breaking too many Strava records.
Can't speak to the difference in components though.
