Ugh, so to start with, yesterday's ride home was miserable. In the 7th st cycle track heading north, a car ran the red making a left, just in front of me, and I had to delay my start as he hauled ass around the corner. Which I guess was good, becuase it delayed me from getting hit by the the guy making an illegal left on red at the next intersection. He probably would have smoked me.
Then I get to 10th st bike lanes, which the city had made no attempt to do anything about for clearing, so it was an uphill slog into the bitter NE wind through 5cm of snirt, but I also had something else slowing me down....
This morning I drag my bike out of the shed, and it involved more dragging that it should. Turns out the rear brakes are seized on! That would explain the added pain yesterday. They are v-brakes(which I replaced last year!) so I loosened the retaining bolts a smidge and they regained enough freedom to not be clenched tight to the rim. Still no bounce-back though. I'll have to take a look when it isn't -200 outside. Probably need some grease or something? All the salt has not been kind.
