There was a sequence in the game last night where McDavid broke wide and skated hard around the NHL defender with the puck for a shot on goal. After the next stoppage in play, they replayed his rush from several angles and with Drew Remenda gushing about McDavid's crossovers. Then, Drew Remenda starts counting the crossovers and explodes with astonishment that he took nine strides! (I think he said "nine"; not certain, but "explodes" is no exaggeration). Remenda and Kevin Quinn continued about how incredible McDavid's skating is—like they had never seen someone skate before this moment. They ended with Kevin Quinn calling McDavid "Flash McDavid!"
It was so utterly ridiculous.
