I at least take everything with a grain of salt when it comes from the media. Nothing gets more clicks than TMZ headlines. I am not saying it isn't true - I am just saying that I recall a number of players over the years that were new to the team saying stuff about how good that locker room was. Of course it could very well be that they were just making it up, but I specifically remember Babchuk not even being asked. It was a conversation about him re-signing on the Flames, and he went out and stated that he has never played on a closer team and that fact makes him want to stay in Calgary.

It has been awhile but we did hear many reports about the room being more cliquey at the time and that's the general feeling I had as well. It's nothing against Iginla as we know he's a great guy but these things just happen in any work environment sometimes. Gio sounds more like the guy who came from the bottom up and everybody loves because he pulls everyone together from the top guys to the lower guys on the fence and leads by example.
