I get what Calgaryblood is saying. Jokinen was supposed to be the big framed #1 C the team have coveted for so long. He put up 5 points his first game. The flames were unanimously proclaimed as the deadline winners and cup favourites. The bar was set high.
Then his play slowly tapered off that season, he never meshed well with Iggy after the first week. Then he was traded away the next season for absolute trash, only to be brought back. However his 2nd stint was with B. Sutter as the coach and the whole team was very underwhelming as a whole, not necessarily Jokinen.
I remember him being the only player who could skate and carry the puck into the offensive zone. Something the entire team had issues with. But he certainly wasn't trash, and was one of the few bright spots on terrible Panther teams.
I'll miss his gifs, and I'll miss his sweet face.
